Parenthood by Design Bootcamp

Introducing: The Parenthood by Design Bootcamp

What is the Parenthood by Design Bootcamp?

The Bootcamp is a 6-week programme that supports you and guides you to write your parenthood plan.

It follows the 12 Steps process, and goes into detail on every step to give you enough information and prompts to write a comprehensive plan.

During the 6 weeks, we will cover:

  • self-analysis and goal-setting for your life as a parent
  • your support network (including your partner, and your workplace)
  • where you live, and how this supports you
  • your plan for your work/career
  • childcare planning
  • home life planning (including domestic roles)
  • financial planning and how to ensure your plan is affordable
  • planning your mental health and mindset, and managing your expectations

This isn't a one-size-fits-all plan. It starts with where you're at, what your goals and values are, and what resources you have at your disposal, so that the final plan is very much your plan, personal to you.

You'll get 6 live group sessions to support you, and plenty of opportunity to get your questions answered. This is as much a safe space for planning, as it is about the provision of resources and information.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the next Bootcamp start?

The next Bootcamp (in fact the very first Bootcamp) starts on Friday 21st February 2025. Because this is the very first one, it is offered at an extremely good price.

Is this for me if I'm currently expecting my first child?

Maybe. It's primarily designed for those with time to plan and to make changes to their lives before having kids. This is long-range planning. However, you will still get a lot of value out of the Bootcamp - but some of your plan might need to be implemented when you are a parent (which is often more difficult to do).

I'm not very good with numbers. Is this for me?

Yes. The financial planning part of the Bootcamp (the Affordability step) is very important, and I will walk you through how to do it. My online tool The Preparental Calculator is designed to make this easy, and you'll also get support.

I don't live in the UK. Is this for me?

This is designed primarily with UK future parents in mind, however the principles and the processes for planning which I explain will be applicable to anyone. Some of the learning content is UK-specific - particularly around the childcare system, and the cost of having children (including government help with the costs).
